"We're going to be in for a dogfight", Texas set to play Michigan for just second time

The fourth ranked Texas Longhorns will travel to Ann Arbor to face the ninth ranked Michigan Wolverines in what will be just the second time the two programs have played each other. Texas won the first matchup in the 2005 Rose Bowl 38-37, and looks to add another statement win to this season.

The defending champs, led by new coach Sherron Moore, beat Fresno State last week, 30-10, in a game that took later than expected for the Wolverines to put away. Michigan, led by QB Davis Warren following the departure of J.J McCarthey to the NFL, averaged just 4.5 yards per pass attempt.

Michigan's run defense was impressive last week, holding Fresno State to just 39 yards on 19 attempts, forcing the Bulldogs to nearly abandon the run game in the second half. Fresno State was able to pass for 235 yards on 22 attempts, but an 86 yard interception return by Will Johnson iced the game for the Wolverines.

Texas comes into this game as the favorite after their dominant 52-0 victory over Colorado State, but head coach Steve Sarkiesan said he isn't too worried about Michigan's offensive struggles last week. "...they’re 41-3 in their last 44 games. They’ve won 16 games in a row. They’ve won 23 straight home games. So these guys know how to win."

Texas will definitely have it's hands full in what many are considering the game of the year between the two squads. Texas is the favorite to win by a touchdown, but we'll see how things shake out in the Big House on Saturday.

Kickoff is slated for 11:00 am central time on Saturday.
